Message from the Provost & Executive Vice Chancellor
Welcome to the ҹɫ¸£Àû
My name is Charlene Stern, and as Interim Provost and Executive Vice Chancellor, it
is my honor to serve as the chief academic officer at UAF. My office works to support
the success of students, faculty, and staff across Nanook Nation.
Here at UAF, we pride ourselves on being a community that offers transformative educational
experiences. We are known for our world class research, our global positioning as
a leader in the Arctic, and our strong portfolio of undergraduate and graduate programs
– not to mention the wondrous landscapes of mountains, glaciers, and wilderness that
make Alaska a popular destination.
Our faculty and staff care deeply about the quality of education delivered through
our six campuses including the Troth Yeddha’ Campus and the Community and Technical
College in Fairbanks, the Kuskokwim Campus in Bethel, the Northwest Campus in Nome,
the Bristol Bay Campus in Dillingham, and the Chukchi Campus in Kotzebue. Together,
UAF proudly offers the full continuum of degree programs ranging from workforce credentials
to doctoral degrees.
I invite you to explore the many opportunities available to learn and work at our
institution. If you have questions or need assistance, please do not hesitate to reach
out as my team and I are here to support you.
For those that may be new to UAF, we welcome you. For those that are already a part
of our community, thank you for all you do to make UAF a place of excellence.
