Call for nominations: Faculty awards and recognition

The nomination period for 2027 emeritus/emerita faculty, the President's Adjunct Award covering the 2026–27 academic year, 2027 Usibelli awards and 2028 honorary degree recipients is open. Nomination guidelines, eligibility criteria, and submission forms are available on the Office of the Provost's website.

Emeriti Nominations for Commencement 2027

  • Deadline: Jan. 29, 2027 – /provost/awards-recognition/emeriti.php
    Nominations for emeritus/emerita faculty may originate from a dean or director with a supporting letter from senior faculty, or from faculty working through the unit peer review committee. A confirmation of retirement or resignation (official notification) is required.

President's Adjunct Award (AY 2026–27)

Emil Usibelli Distinguished Teaching, Research, and Public Service Awards (2027)

  • Deadline: Feb. 1, 2027 – /provost/awards-recognition/usibelli.php
    These awards recognize extraordinary excellence in teaching, research, and public service aligned with UAF's tripartite mission.

Honorary Degree Nominations for Commencement 2028

  • Deadline: Feb. 1, 2027 – /provost/awards-recognition/honorary-degrees.php
    Honorary degree recipients are selected one year in advance. Nominations should include an initial nomination letter, supporting letters, and a curriculum vitae or biography for the candidate.

A nomination is considered complete only when all required materials (including signatures, where applicable) have been submitted.
