It means that now is the perfect time to assess your habits and ensure they align with where you want to be fifteen weeks from now, at the end of the term. It seems like a long way away – but it will come fast! If your routine already feels overwhelming, don't hesitate to adjust your daily schedule or find support at a study skills workshop. Location also matters, so find a consistent study space that works for you – whether that’s at the library, including the Student Success Center, the Murie or Usibelli buildings or a favorite local coffee shop.

    The University of Alaska is accepting proposals for the FY27 Faculty Initiative Fund. Proposals are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2026. The FIF provides up to $360,000 in funding to support systemwide collaboration, academic innovation and professional development across the UA system. Faculty from all three universities are encouraged to apply.

    Despite the unseasonably cool temperatures we've had lately, summer is in full swing in Fairbanks and across the state. This means it's fair time! UAF's Cooperative Extension Service has a deep history with fair time in Alaska, but we're so much more than that. Cooperative Extension has been a part of our university since 1930. We are members of a larger Extension system that spans the country in every state and territory, and has been in existence for over 150 years. Extension was created to provide a bridge between our nation's public universities and the communities in which we live and serve.
