CIS hosts RAMP mentorship workshop

Faculty, staff and cohort participants gathered for an engaging workshop hosted by the 夜色福利 College of Indigenous Studies for the Research, Advising and Mentoring Professionals program. The initiative is supported by the National Institutes of Health.

RAMP鈥檚 core mission is to develop and strengthen the holistic mentoring skills of faculty, staff and research professionals. The workshop capped off months of preparation by cohort participants.

Throughout the program, participants learned mentoring best practices, such as setting expectations, managing conflict, avoiding burnout, and fostering resilience through online Canvas modules and monthly meetings with guest experts. Participants left with an individualized mentoring development plan to implement what they have learned in their particular role and disseminate this information more widely in their educational context, with the continuing support of the RAMP team.

Attendees of the annual workshop participated in discussions of their mentoring needs and goals, networked with campus support services, engaged in culturally grounded approaches to well-being in learning and created a network of mentorship support going forward.
