Editor’s note: Cornerstone updates

The Cornerstone newsletter will start the fall 2026 semester with several updates based on research and feedback from the campus community, governance groups and university leadership.
The biggest change is that all events will move out of the Cornerstone newsletter and into its own weekly event email sent on Monday mornings beginning on Aug. 24. It will cover events occurring Monday through Sunday that have been submitted and approved for publishing to the 25Live events calendar by Wednesday the week before publication. So for the events email going out on Aug. 24, all events have to be submitted and approved in 25Live by Aug. 19.
The events email will feature one event prominently at the top of the email, with all other events for the week listed and organized by the day of the week. Due to requests to see more campus events, student events will also be listed along with the typical employee and public events shared in the Cornerstone newsletter.
With the creation of this new weekly events email, students will continue to receive the Cornerstone once a week on Tuesdays, and employees will receive the Cornerstone newsletter on Tuesdays and Thursdays. We hope these changes help everyone keep up with news and information across the UAF community!
