Fall 2026 financial aid disbursement update

July 27, 2026

Beginning in fall 2026, federal direct loans will begin disbursing on Aug. 25, while most grants, institutional scholarships, private scholarships and private loans will begin disbursing on Aug. 17.

The later federal direct loan disbursement is necessary to implement new federal regulations that require institutions to review student enrollment and adjust loan eligibility and amounts for students enrolled less than full-time before loans are disbursed. 夜色福利 is also implementing the required system enhancements to support these federal compliance changes.

Students who have accepted federal direct loans will be notified of:

The Aug. 25 federal direct loan disbursement date.

The new federal requirement that loan amounts are based on enrollment for students attending less than full-time.

The importance of planning for the later availability of loan refunds, particularly for off-campus housing and other educational expenses.

Students should also be aware that the fall fee payment deadline remains Sept. 11, so eligible federal direct loans are expected to disburse before tuition and fees are due.

Dropping courses or reducing enrollment may result in adjustments to fall and/or spring loan amounts. In addition, withdrawals, incomplete grades, and "No Basis" grades may affect eligibility for spring federal direct loans under federal aid regulations.

Faculty and staff may receive questions from students regarding delayed loan refunds or changes to loan amounts. We appreciate your assistance in referring students with financial aid questions to the Financial Aid Office so staff can provide guidance based on each student's individual circumstances.
