Congratulations and welcome to the second week of our adventure!
Now is a good time to take a moment for some self-reflection. What does that mean? It means that now is the perfect time to assess your habits and ensure they align with where you want to be fifteen weeks from now at the end of the term. It seems like a long way away – but it will come fast! If your routine already feels overwhelming, don't hesitate to adjust your daily schedule or find support at a . Location also matters, so find a consistent study space that works for you – whether that’s at the , including the Student Success Center, the Murie or Usibelli buildings or a favorite local coffee shop.
Most importantly, remember to balance your hard work with time outdoors; taking a break to explore the UAF Boreal Arboretum or our local trail network can be the perfect way to recharge your energy and focus. Even if you just grab a friend or two and do the simple walk from West Ridge, our Arctic Research Park, to the Large Animal Research Station and back – just a short hour or hour-and-a-half walk – it can change your whole experience and concept of what and where UAF is!
There is also plenty happening to help you connect and grow this semester. If you're looking for career experience and some extra income, attend the on Thursday from noon to 3 p.m. at the Wood Center. There’s also available.
Want to be part of one of UAF’s longest-running traditions? from clubs and student groups to build fires at Starvation Gulch! This is your chance to showcase your creativity, teamwork, and school spirit around the bonfire. We’re also for student clubs to have a table at the bonfire. You can see the full !
