UA Safe Title IX training due by Oct. 31

Taking care of the campus community is a responsibility all Nanooks share. As a reminder, all students, employees and volunteers are required to complete the annual UA Safe Title IX Training to help keep UAF safe.

The required annual must be completed by Oct. 31.
The training will take approximately one hour to complete. You may start and stop at any point, and your progress will be saved. UAF’s Required Training Policy 
The UA Safe Title IX Training is classified as a Tier 1 training under UAF’s Required Training Policy (UAF Policy 04.07.010). Tier 1 trainings are mandatory for all employees, including student employees. The policy also outlines supervisors' responsibility to ensure that their employees have fulfilled their training requirements, as well as the expected consequences for non-compliance. Supervisors should use the to check their employees' training completion status.

Reporting Options and Responsibilities
Please remember that all UAF faculty and staff (with limited exceptions outlined in University Policy and Regulation) are "." This means that university employees are required to report any sex or gender-based discrimination, including sexual assault and sexual harassment, to their campus Title IX Coordinator in the UAF Office of Rights, Compliance and Accountability within 24 hours.

Due to the nature of their roles, Residence Life student employees, UAF orientation leaders, and graduate student employees are also classified as responsible employees. Responsible employees must promptly report all incident details, including names; anonymous reports do not satisfy this duty. Complete reporting enables UA to stop harassment, provide supportive resources, and ensure community safety. Any inappropriate behavior that falls outside Title IX will be addressed under other applicable policies.

For sex discrimination claims or other inquiries concerning the application of Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and its implementing regulations, individuals may contact their campus Title IX Coordinator, or the Assistant Secretary in the U.S. Department of Education Office of Civil Rights, or both:
