UAF expands space utilization program following successful pilot

March 6, 2026

Following a successful 90-day pilot program this past fall, UAF Space Planning is expanding its partnership with Lambent Spaces to 17 buildings across campus. The pilot, conducted in the Arctic Health Research Building, Duckering and Elvey, allowed Facilities Services to realize significant savings and operational efficiencies through data-driven insights.

The system will continue to use existing Wi-Fi access points to anonymously estimate occupancy. No personally identifiable information is collected. This year-long expansion will provide high-level usage trends to further inform future planning and ensure a more efficient, sustainable campus environment for the UAF community.
