UAF reaches important accreditation milestone
Sept. 2, 2026
UAF has submitted its Year-6 Policies, Regulations, and Financial Review report to the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. The campus community can now view the report on the UAF Accreditation and Assessment webpage.
A quick note about the report: because the PRFR has been formally submitted, the links and other content within the document are effectively locked at this point. We will not be able to make changes to those links until after October 2026. This is a normal part of the submission process and does not affect UAF's ability to continue preparing for the next stages of the accreditation cycle.
Looking ahead, our focus will shift to finalizing preparation of the Year-7 report, which is UAF’s Evaluation of Institutional Effectiveness. The EIE is NWCCU’s comprehensive evaluation of an institution’s mission fulfillment, effectiveness and continuous improvement and serves as the primary report reviewed by the peer evaluation team. Over the past year, more than 60 faculty, staff, students and administrators participated in developing the initial draft of UAF’s EIE. We will continue refining the report over the coming year as we prepare for the October 2027 peer evaluator visit, when an NWCCU evaluation team will visit campus to review the EIE and engage with faculty, staff, students and university leadership.
Thank you to the many faculty and staff who contributed to the PRFR and to UAF’s ongoing accreditation work. The Year-6 submission is an important milestone, and the work now underway will position us well for the Year-7 report and the October 2027 peer evaluator visit.
