Wilderness first responder course

This backcountry medicine course goes deep into what to do when you encounter a medical emergency or injury in the wilderness. You will learn how to use a patient assessment system to help you make decisions about how to best help people when you are far from definitive care.
This course is 76 hours long and is spread out over six weeks during the semester. During the course, you spend a lot of time doing hands-on scenarios. Upon successful completion, you will receive the nationally recognized SOLO Wilderness First Responder Certification. This course also includes CPR and AED certifications.
Sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-9 p.m., Oct. 27 through
Dec. 3, and on Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Oct. 31 through Dec. 5.
*** No classes will be held on the Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday of Thanksgiving
Week. ***
The cost to attend is $900, and Fred Harbison is the course instructor.
