Preparing for CTC
Supporting Your Success
College is for anyone ready to learn, grow, and build a better future. Students come to CTC with different experiences, strengths, and levels of preparation—and many of us need help along the way. At CTC, we are committed to providing the support, encouragement, and clear pathways that every student needs to succeed.
College Prep Courses
We offer courses to support students at all levels. Our college prep courses are designed to prepare you for admission to university academic and vocational-technical education programs, and specifically, to meet the demands of college-level courses and improve your skills.
We offer courses at all levels to develop skills in writing and math. We also offer courses that teach study skills and other skills for academic success.
Academic Advising
One of the most important first steps you can take towards achieving your academic success is to meet with an academic advisor. Our advisors will help you to identify the right courses to get you started, they will also help you to select, plan and complete your academic goals.
Learning Center & Tutoring
Our learning center is designed to provide additional support to students in a friendly and welcoming environment. The center provides group and quiet study areas, a math lab and writing center with tutoring assistance, a computer lab with math and English software programs to increase math and language skills and workshops in math, English and study skills.
Stop by the Debbie Moses Learning Center, located inside the UAF Community & Technical College Campus Center in room 120, to learn of the many resources available to students.
