The Free Application for Federal Student Aid opens on Oct. 1 of each year. However, in 2020, Congress passed the 'FAFSA Simplification Act,' which represents a significant overhaul of the FAFSA application process. As a result of these changes, the 2024-2025 FAFSA Application will be delayed until December 2023.

Paul H. McCarthy Awards accepting applications

Individual undergraduate and graduate students from all disciplines at the University of Alaska are eligible and invited to apply for an award of $2,500 to support their research using the Alaska and Polar Regions Collections and Archives at the Elmer E. Rasmuson Library. One award is available annually. The deadline to apply is Nov. 5, 2023, by 11:59 p.m.

Apply for URSA Spring 2024 Project Awards

Undergraduate students of all disciplines and from all UAF-affiliated campuses* who plan to pursue creative projects or conduct research during the Spring 2024 term are invited to apply for URSA Student Project funding. Spring Project Awards offer up to $3,000 for individuals and up to $6,000 for group applicants. Applications will be accepted from Oct. 2 to Nov. 5 at 11:59 p.m.
